MORNING SWIM WITH KILIMANJARO- PAINTING

Custom built frame by Mark Langdon. This is a rustic, sturdy, custom-built frame from rough-cut cedar, which is coated with white, pickle-stain. The frame is rustic and repurposed wood full of texture, character with inconsistent surface look and feel.   Dimensions of entire piece are approximately: 

53.5"L x 53.5"H x 1.5"

This horse painting was inspired from riding in the National Park Dunes and Lakeshore and swimming our horses in Lake Michigan, just down the road from one of our farms. Kilimanjaro and I used to swim early in the morning, arriving in the dark and swam as the sun rose. These experiences, swimming with horses in Lake Michigan and in rivers out west and swimming with wild dolphins in Maui,  inspired some of  paintings in this series and are part of the spirit of Wet Women and Coastal Sol!
